Accelerator Programme Fellows Ambassador Audrey Tang and Mat Dryhurst took part in an international panel discussion examining the social, political and technological trajectories of artificial intelligence during an event held in Venice on 7 May 2026.
The discussion, AI: Intentions, Protocols and Power, formed part of the opening programme for The Phantom Combatants by Natasha Tontey, presented by Amos Rex.
The panel explored emerging questions surrounding AI systems, including agent economies, autonomous robotics, governance structures and the distribution of power in increasingly networked technological environments.
Ambassador Tang and Dryhurst were joined by Peter Danenberg and Linda Eggert, with the conversation moderated by Professor Philipp Koralus, Director of the HAI Lab at the University of Oxford.
The event was co-convened by Amos Rex, LAS Art Foundation and the HAI Lab at the Institute for Ethics in AI, University of Oxford, bringing together voices from research, policy, art and technology to consider the future implications of artificial intelligence across society.
