Ambassador Audrey Tang
Ambassador Audrey Tang to deliver lecture on software freedom and civic care.
Accelerator Programme Fellow Ambassador Audrey Tang will speak at an upcoming event hosted by the Oxford Global Society for Education and Research (OGEER), exploring the relationship between software freedom, democracy and intergenerational civic responsibility.
The lecture, Good Enough Ancestor: Software Freedom as Civic Care Across Generations, will examine how open technologies and participatory digital infrastructures can support more resilient, inclusive and democratic societies.
Ambassador Tang — Taiwan’s Cyber Ambassador-at-Large, former Digital Minister and Senior Accelerator Fellow at the Institute for Ethics in AI, University of Oxford — is internationally recognised for advancing democratic participation through open-source civic technology and digital governance.
The event will explore themes including collective intelligence, civic collaboration and the long-term stewardship of technological systems, reflecting Tang’s wider work on democratic innovation and plurality in the digital age.
